On the 10th (local time), Samsung Electronics held the 'Galaxy Unpacked 2024' event in Paris, France, and introduced the wearable device Galaxy Ring.

The Galaxy Ring features a Grade 5 titanium finish that is resistant to scratches and supports 10ATM water resistance, allowing users to use it with confidence anywhere. The battery, which can last up to 7 days, continuously measures the user's health information without interruption. The charging case equipped with LED lighting supports easy charging.

At the pre-briefing, I tried wearing the Galaxy Ring and shaking my hand around, but the ring stuck closely to my finger. Although it looked quite thick when worn, it weighed just over 2g, so I barely felt its weight on my hand. It seemed unlikely to be a burden when measuring sleep information.

When placing the ring into the charging case, aligning it properly with the groove draws a circle around the ring. When a perfect circle is drawn, it indicates that charging is 100% complete. You can also check the charge level by clicking the center button.

The Galaxy Ring provides various daily health indicators and supports personalized health management by analyzing accumulated health data with artificial intelligence (AI) functions. All health information and insights measured through the Galaxy Ring can be checked in the 'Samsung Health' application (app).

In particular, advanced sleep analysis and enhanced sleep algorithms help users understand their sleep and improve their sleep habits.

Users can check their sleep score from the previous night and various health indicators every morning after waking up. The enhanced sleep analysis provides detailed information on ▲ movements during sleep ▲ time taken to fall asleep ▲ heart rate and respiratory rate during sleep, among other sleep quality metrics.

The resulting 'Energy Score' offers a daily score that changes according to the user's health condition, helping them understand the physical and mental impacts of health on daily life and manage their condition.

Features such as the 'Heart Rate Alert' notify users immediately if their heart rate is too high or too low. The 'Automatic Exercise Detection' function automatically measures exercise progress when the user walks or runs, and the 'Inactive Time Alert' motivates users to achieve their goals when they have been inactive for a long time.

After wearing the Galaxy Ring, performing the 'Double Pinch' gesture allows easy control of the camera and alarm clock on the Galaxy smartphone connected to the Galaxy Ring. Using the 'Find My Ring' feature in the Samsung Find app, users can also easily check the location of the Galaxy Ring from their Galaxy smartphone.

The Galaxy Ring will be released in three colors?Titanium Black, Titanium Silver, and Titanium Gold?in a total of nine sizes, priced at 499,400 KRW.
