MoLIT: "Gyeongbu, Honam, Janghang Line Trains to Operate Normally from Early Morning on the 11th"

Operation of 150 Vehicles Suspended Due to Heavy Rain
Gyeongbuk Line Restoration to Take More Than 3-4 Days

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced on the 10th that the general train services on the Gyeongbu Line (Daejeon to Dongdaegu), Honam Line (Seodaejeon to Iksan), and Janghang Line (entire section), which were suspended due to heavy rainfall in the central region, will resume normal operations starting from the 11th.

The ministry expects that the Gyeongbuk Line (entire section), where trackbed erosion is relatively severe, will require a detailed safety inspection and complete restoration will take more than 3 to 4 days.

As of 2 p.m. on the same day, a total of 150 trains, including 12 high-speed trains (KTX) and 138 general trains passing through the general lines on these four routes, were temporarily suspended. 61 high-speed trains and 23 general trains were delayed due to slow operation. All other lines are operating normally.

The ministry urged passengers to check train operation status in advance through the Korea Railroad Corporation (KORAIL) website or the railway customer center, as the schedule for resuming train operations may vary depending on weather and restoration conditions.

The ministry stated, "Together with related organizations such as KORAIL, we will do our best to promptly complete emergency restoration and track inspections to minimize public inconvenience and restore normal train operations as soon as possible."
