According to foreign media including Yomiuri Shimbun on the 10th, Oriental Land, which operates Tokyo Disneyland and DisneySea, announced the day before that it will participate in the cruise business. Oriental Land stated that it will invest 330 billion yen (about 2.83 trillion KRW) in the cruise business, aiming to launch as early as 2028.
The cruise ship will be about 140,000 tons in size, with a capacity of about 4,000 people. Thomas Mazloum, CEO of Disney Signature Experiences, said, "When departing from Japan, Disney’s passionate Japanese fans will be able to enjoy Disney’s sea vacations more easily."
Meanwhile, Disney has been operating cruise businesses utilizing Disney characters and Marvel superheroes in the Caribbean, Europe, Australia, and other regions.
