Extensive Support for Children, Seniors, and People with Disabilities
The Daegu Jung-gu Child Meal Service Management Center, operated by the Daegu Catholic University Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation, will expand its support to social welfare meal service facilities starting in July, and will be operated as the Daegu Jung-gu Child and Social Welfare Meal Service Management Center.
With this expansion, the center will provide comprehensive meal service management support not only for children but also for nutrition-vulnerable groups, including the elderly and people with disabilities.
Since its opening in 2014, the center has aimed to promote children's health by providing hygiene and safety management for children's meal facilities, offering nutritious meal plans, and conducting various educational programs.
Over the past 10 years, the center has planned to support systematic meal service management for social welfare meal facilities, including: ▲ regular visits by professional nutritionists for nutrition, hygiene, and safety guidance ▲ provision of meal plans and cooking guides tailored to health conditions ▲ nutrition counseling ▲ dietary education for each target group.
Center Director Kim Eunjeong said, "We will do our best to provide safe and healthy meals and improve dietary habits by supporting even the meal service blind spots in our society, where meals have been provided without the supervision of nutritionists."
