82 Billion Won Supported Over 5 Years by Ministry of Education and Busan City
Training Professionals in Departments like Smart Mobility
Dongseo University is set to launch a customized project aimed at fostering talent in advanced industries and linking all graduates to employment.
Dongseo University (President Jang Je-guk) announced on the 10th that it has been selected for the "Advanced Industry Talent Development Bootcamp" project, which was organized by the Ministry of Education and the Korea Institute for Advancement of Technology.
With this selection, Dongseo University will receive a total of 8.2 billion KRW in support from the Ministry of Education (Korea Institute for Advancement of Technology), Busan Metropolitan City, and others until February 2029, with plans to nurture professionals in fields ranging from secondary battery materials to cells, packs, and recycling.
The Advanced Industry Talent Development Bootcamp project is designed to cultivate talent by providing intensive education within one year or as part of a degree program, jointly operated by universities and companies for students from various interdisciplinary majors. The goal is to supply skilled personnel to advanced companies in fields such as secondary batteries and semiconductors.
Starting next year, Dongseo University will develop specialized major curricula and 4-week and 8-week module-based courses for the newly established School of Smart Mobility (majors in Secondary Battery, Hydrogen Energy, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, and Robotics). The university will operate company-customized education programs tailored to secondary battery majors, related departments, and non-majors at various levels.
To achieve this, Dongseo University plans to establish and operate field campuses at more than 30 partner companies specializing in secondary batteries, including Geumyang Co., Ltd., Cobat Co., Ltd., Korens Group, and Panstar Group, implementing an educational model that ensures all students are employed by relevant companies.
Jang Je-guk, President of Dongseo University, stated, "We have established a system for nurturing professionals who can proactively respond to the innovative changes in the clean energy-based mobility industry, and with the selection for this project, we will strive to cultivate the best talent in the secondary battery sector."
