Gangseo-gu to Issue 12 Billion Won Worth of Gangseo Love Gift Certificates on the 17th of This Month

5% Discount on Purchase Amount and 30% Income Deduction Benefit
Usable at 12,000 Franchise Stores in the Region

Gangseo-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Jin Gyo-hoon) will issue the "Seoul Gangseo Love Gift Certificate" worth 12 billion KRW on the 17th of this month ahead of the summer vacation season. The Seoul Gangseo Love Gift Certificate is a mobile local currency with a 5% discount and is highly popular, selling out every round.

The district will issue a total of 40 billion KRW worth of gift certificates in five rounds this year, increasing by 5 billion KRW compared to last year to improve the income of small business owners and revitalize neighborhood commercial districts.

The third round will be available for purchase from 10 a.m. on the 17th of this month, with a maximum purchase limit of 500,000 KRW per person. The validity period is five years from the date of issuance, and up to 1.5 million KRW can be held. Corporations have no purchase or holding limits but are not eligible for discounts.

The gift certificates can be purchased through Seoul Pay Plus (Seoul Pay+) and can be used at about 12,000 affiliated stores in Gangseo-gu, including restaurants, beauty salons, pharmacies, and convenience stores. Buyers receive a 5% discount on the purchase amount and a 30% income deduction on the payment amount, and small business owners are exempt from payment fees.

District Mayor Jin Gyo-hoon said, "We have significantly expanded the issuance scale of the Seoul Gangseo Love Gift Certificate this year for consumers and small business owners," adding, "We will do our best to support small business owners and revitalize the local economy during a time when the economic burden on ordinary people is high."
