Intelligent CCTV and Remote Monitoring IoT Implementation
Digital Transformation... Fast and Stable Service
LG Uplus announced on the 10th that it will introduce a smart control solution at the 'International Submarine Cable Landing Station' in Taean-gun, Chungcheongnam-do.
Four types of solutions?intelligent CCTV, real-time control IoT, vibration sensors, and integrated control monitoring?will be applied to the landing station to enhance operational stability and efficiency. The Taean-gun landing station, where the digital transformation (DX) solution is being introduced, is operated by Dacom Crossing, a subsidiary of LG Uplus.
The landing station refers to a communication station equipped with switching devices and other connection facilities that enable submarine optical cables to connect with terrestrial communication networks. Compared to general communication stations, landing stations require meticulous management of temperature and humidity. They are also more likely to be affected by earthquakes occurring in neighboring countries or on the Korean Peninsula.
LG Uplus decided to introduce its proprietary DX control solution to quickly respond to external environmental changes and prevent emergencies such as fires.
The newly installed intelligent CCTV can record in real-time with FHD high resolution. It can autonomously distinguish between people, animals, shadows, and camera shakes, enabling early response in case of abnormal situations. Facility management tasks such as manual temperature control of distribution panels and generator fuel monitoring have also been digitally transformed by introducing real-time remote control IoT.
Through a remote control IoT solution equipped with technologies such as thermal imaging camera remote monitoring sensing, the temperature of distribution panels and the remaining fuel level in generator fuel tanks can be checked in real time. The integrated control monitoring system is configured so that the responsible staff can view all management indicators within the facility at a glance.
LG Uplus plans to expand the application of AI technology to equipment mainly used in industrial sites such as CCTV and IoT devices to provide stable services to public institutions and corporate clients and contribute to securing the safety of workers.
