Jung-gu District Office in Seoul (Mayor Kim Gil-seong) established a new Integrity Policy Team through an organizational restructuring earlier this month to foster a culture of integrity within the organization. The newly created Integrity Policy Team under the Audit Officer plans to implement various policies to improve vulnerable areas to corruption and enhance overall integrity.

On the 9th, Jung-gu held an anti-corruption integrity strategy meeting chaired by the mayor to share improvements in the fields of contracts, permits, and subsidy projects.

The 16 department heads presented efforts and future plans to enhance integrity, including △strengthening feedback on permit-related civil complaints △ensuring consistency in work processing standards among responsible personnel △improving subsidy support and settlement methods △holding meetings with maintenance project stakeholders and consulting external experts △sharing unusual case work and promoting proactive administration,

and also shared achievements such as △producing YouTube content to improve organizational culture △strengthening communication with employees to raise internal organizational integrity.

Earlier, in March, the district formed the ‘Integrity Jung-gu Anti-Corruption Integrity Strategy Council.’ This improved the integrity management system from being solely managed by the Audit Officer to a bureau-level management system to foster a culture where anti-corruption integrity policies are recognized as a shared task by all organizational members and to induce synergy through organic collaboration. Since then, each bureau has independently analyzed corruption-vulnerable areas and established annual plans for improvement, holding the first reporting session in April. In May, during Integrity Culture Day, Mayor Kim Gil-seong participated in the campaign by taking four-panel integrity photos with employees.

On the 30th of this month, an Integrity Concert will be held to build consensus among employees on integrity. The event will feature role-play style performances incorporating realistic cases such as workplace bullying and unfair practices within the organization. Next month, an Employee Integrity Golden Bell event will be held to spread an integrity culture based on communication. Additionally, to build trust in district administration, the office plans to continuously monitor work processes from the perspective of civil petitioners and strengthen feedback.

Mayor Kim emphasized, “The impact of one person’s transparent and fair work on the local community and the nation is enormous,” and stressed, “As a public official, always keep in mind the highest virtue of ‘integrity.’”
