720 Outfits Rented Last Year, Positive Response from Citizens
"When jumping into the water, wear '119'."
The Ulsan Jungbu Fire Station 119 Safety Centers (Yugok, Seongnam, Byeongyeong, Taehwa) announced on the 10th that they will operate the '119 Ipgo Pongdang' free life jacket rental service from the 11th until September 1st. Through this service, life jackets will be available for free rental.
This life jacket rental service is now in its fifth year and is available to all Ulsan citizens. Life jackets come in four sizes: infant, child, youth, and adult. Each person can rent up to four life jackets for five days free of charge. To rent a life jacket, users must make a reservation on the Jungbu Fire Station website and then visit one of the four designated 119 Safety Centers to pick up the jackets in person.
An official from the Jungbu Fire Station stated, "Wearing a life jacket is essential for sea activities, and in rivers or valleys, frequent rain often makes the water deeper and the current stronger," adding, "We hope Ulsan citizens heading out for water activities will be sure to bring a life jacket and enjoy a safe summer vacation."
Last year, a total of 720 life jackets were rented out over three months from July to September, receiving a positive response from citizens.
