Preference Survey Conducted for Projects with Design Costs Over 500 Million KRW
Anyone Can Participate via Seoul City e-Voting System
Seoul Housing and Communities Corporation (SH Corporation) will introduce a citizen preference survey for design competition entries, including the Seocho Seongdwi Village public housing project.
On the 9th, SH Corporation announced that starting with the 'Seocho Seongdwi Village Public Housing District (A1) Architectural Design Competition,' it will conduct citizen preference surveys when holding design competitions with design fees exceeding 500 million KRW.
The preference survey will be conducted by categorizing participants into interested citizens, SH Corporation employees, and architecture students from universities in the Seoul metropolitan area to consider public preference, feasibility, and appropriate construction costs.
The winning architectural design will be selected through a review on the 11th. The preference survey will be conducted for three days before the judging committee meeting, and the results will be provided as reference materials during the design competition jury session.
The preference survey for the Seocho Seongdwi Village design competition will be held from the 8th to the 10th. The Seocho Seongdwi Village Public Housing District (A1) is a project to build 900 Baeknyeonju-taek (Century Houses) in 565-2 Bangbae-dong, Seocho-gu, Seoul.
Citizens who wish to participate in the preference survey can access the Seoul M-Voting system, review perspective drawings, floor plans, and design summaries, and vote for their most preferred design.
SH Corporation plans to select 100 participants by lottery and provide them with small commemorative gifts.
Kim Heon-dong, President of SH Corporation, said, “By involving citizens in the public architecture design competition process, we expect to contribute to selecting high-quality and excellent designs in a more transparent manner,” adding, “We will develop the winning design to realize creative and innovative Baeknyeonju-taek.”
