The area around Bupyeong Culture Street, Bupyeong Market, and Sintree Park in Incheon has transformed into a smart town where residents can enjoy a safer and more convenient life.
Incheon Bupyeong-gu announced on the 9th that it has recently completed the 'Safe Bupyeong Bupyeong 4-dong Smart Town Development' project.
The Safe Bupyeong Smart Town Development project focuses on Bupyeong 4-dong, a densely populated area, to spread and expand proven excellent smart solutions, aiming to solve urban problems in the old downtown and improve residents' quality of life. The project was carried out over one year starting from June last year, with a budget of approximately 3.2 billion KRW.
The district has distributed or completed the installation of a smart village integrated platform, floating population analysis, AI (artificial intelligence) intersection analysis, pedestrian signal voice guidance aids, red light remaining time displays, ground-level pedestrian signals, floodlights, smart shelters, and smart home care solutions in the area.
The AI-based smart safety intersections provide a protective system that ensures safety for both elderly pedestrians and drivers, while the floating population analysis solution, which detects population flow through mobile phone signals, is used as data to revitalize the commercial areas of Bupyeong Market and Culture Street.
At the smart shelter installed in Sintree Park, fine dust information is provided in real time via an LED display, and amenities such as heated chairs, wireless phone charging, and electric wheelchair charging are equipped, allowing for a more comfortable rest.
Additionally, smart home care 'Care Robot Hyodoli' and home IoT (Internet of Things) devices have been distributed to elderly single-person households with dementia or mobility difficulties, providing services to prevent dementia and depression.
The district plans to expand the Safe Bupyeong Smart Town Development project in the future if resident satisfaction with this project remains high.
Cha Juntak, head of Bupyeong-gu, stated, "In the era of digital transformation, we will continuously discover smart services that residents can feel and activate projects."
