For this sharing event, 15 members of the Red Cross in Gaya-eup participated to assemble 60 summer kit sets (worth about 6 million won). The kits consisted of six items: an air circulator, a summer blanket, a cooling scarf, an insect repellent device, instant samgyetang, and instant abalone porridge.
The kits were delivered to 60 households of low-income seniors aged 70 and over through town offices and administrative welfare centers.
One volunteer who participated in the activity said, "The summer kit was thoughtfully put together. As heatwaves worsen every year and it becomes harder to get through summer, I hope the seniors can have a cooler and more comfortable season."
