Yangcheon-gu, Seoul (Mayor Lee Gi-jae) will support up to 80% of the project costs for expanding outdoor parking lots within apartment complexes.
This initiative is part of the "2024 Second Half Support Project for Multi-family Housing," established in response to increasing complaints about illegal parking due to a shortage of apartment parking spaces in the district. The support covers expansions of up to 200 parking spaces.
The multi-family housing support project targets apartment complexes with 20 or more households in the district, providing the district government’s support for 50-80% of the costs needed for maintenance of shared facilities.
In response to the shortage of apartment parking spaces, the district has partially amended the "Multi-family Housing Support Ordinance" to allow support of up to 70-80% of total project costs for expanding outdoor parking spaces per household within complexes. Additionally, an extra budget of 1 billion KRW will be allocated.
In the second half of the year, priority support will be given to complexes that did not apply in the first half, small-scale multi-family housing (20 to fewer than 100 households), consideration for socially vulnerable groups (such as renovation of senior centers, facilities for the disabled, and improvement of security guards’ working conditions), and projects reinforcing disaster safety and hazardous facilities.
The application period is until the 24th of this month. Applicants must submit the required documents by mail or in person to the Housing Division of Yangcheon-gu Office. After expert on-site inspections of the submitted complexes, the "Multi-family Housing Support Review Committee" will review the applications, and final selection results will be individually notified in August.
In the first half of this year, the district supported 54 maintenance projects in 50 complexes with a total of 735.32 million KRW and provided 239.10 million KRW for electricity costs of outdoor security lights in 188 complexes as part of the multi-family housing support project.
Mayor Lee Gi-jae said, "I hope the multi-family housing support project will help create a safe and pleasant residential environment," and added, "We will continue to actively discover and implement customized support measures reflecting the needs of residents."
