Plans to Open a Korean Restaurant in Lyon, France Reported
Warning Issued Ahead of Visits to Belgium and Switzerland
Jung Joon-young, who was sentenced to five years in prison for sexual crimes and was released last March, has been reported to have been spotted in France.
On the 6th, a post in French appeared on X (formerly Twitter) stating, "I met Jung Joon-young, involved in the Seungri and Burning Sun scandals, in Lyon." The netizen A who posted this wrote, "My friends wanted to spend the evening at a club, so I went along. However, the drink order was wrong," and added, "Not wanting to waste it, I asked the people next to me if they wanted to drink it. At that moment, a man approached and said he would drink it."
Thinking the man who approached him resembled Jung Joon-young, A said, "Considering Jung Joon-young had serious issues in Korea, I memorized the tattoo on his arm and asked his name so as not to offend him by mistake," and added, "He only told me his name was Jun."
A said, "A few minutes later, another Korean man came up to us and asked, 'Do you know that man?'" He continued, "I heard he was a very famous singer in Korea and realized it was Jung Joon-young." He added, "I watched Jung Joon-young from a distance and saw him hitting on a woman. I wanted to warn her to be careful."
A said, "This coward fled from Korea because he was extremely hated and his face was well known there," and explained, "On the other hand, here he had basic French skills and was planning to open a restaurant in Paris before the scandal broke out." Jung Joon-young is known to be fluent in several foreign languages due to his long stay abroad, and it is reported that his plan to open a restaurant in Paris in 2018 was canceled due to the Burning Sun scandal and related issues.
A warned, "Especially women should be cautious. He is currently in Lyon," and said, "I know well that he is still playing around with women. I have evidence to support this, but I am afraid it might cause problems." He added, "He acted as if nothing happened, did not even say his real name, and looked very ordinary," concluding, "If my tweet helps even one person, I am happy and have no regrets." A also posted a photo of Jung Joon-young, in which he appeared smiling with grown hair and beard.
B, who translated A’s tweet and posted it on a domestic community, shared that Jung Joon-young is said to be opening a Korean restaurant in Lyon, France, and will also visit Switzerland and Belgium in turn, asking for wide dissemination in local communities. The intention was to prevent further victims of sexual crimes such as hidden camera filming.
Meanwhile, Jung Joon-young was sentenced to five years in prison for gang raping women in January 2016 in Hongcheon, Gangwon Province, and in March in Daegu with five others including Choi Jong-hoon, and for distributing illegally filmed videos 11 times in a group chat. Jung Joon-young, who was released from Mokpo Prison last March, is also reported to be preparing for overseas immigration.
