Applications online or by phone until July 12... Recruiting a total of 200 people
Three courses: Walk Behavior Correction, Pet Grooming, and Handmade Pet Snacks Making
Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Gyeong-gi) is operating the '2024 Jungnang Petiquette Culture Class' to create a petiquette culture that both pet owners and non-pet owners can empathize with.
The purpose is to establish a proper pet communication culture through education and to alleviate conflicts between pet owners and non-pet owners.
The detailed curriculum consists of three courses: ▲Sanchaekhalgae (Walk Dog) ▲Pet Dog Hygiene and Grooming Class ▲Homemade Pet Snack Making Class for pets (dogs and cats). Participants can learn about concerns regarding problematic behaviors of dogs during walks, dog grooming methods, and dietary therapy for dogs and cats.
Sanchaekhalgae is targeted at households raising registered dogs and can be applied for on the website of the Non-Stray Dog City Association. The pet dog hygiene and grooming class and the homemade pet snack making class are open to anyone interested, and applications can be submitted online through the Jungnang-gu Office website or by phone. The application period is until July 12, and the total number of participants is 200.
The education venues vary by course. Sanchaekhalgae is held at Bongsudae Park and the Pet Family Rest Area, the grooming class at the Jungnang-gu Social Economy Support Center, and the homemade snack making class at the Jungnang Cooking Studio.
This education program allows participation from both pet owners and non-pet owners and includes training not only for dogs but also for cats, distinguishing it from previous programs. Additionally, to minimize conflicts among neighbors and foster a petiquette culture that everyone can agree on, petiquette guidance and education are provided to all participants.
Mayor Ryu Gyeong-gi said, “I hope this education helps establish a mature and proper pet culture where pet owners and non-pet owners understand, consider, and coexist with each other,” and added, “We will continue to prepare various petiquette-related education programs for both pet owners and non-pet owners.”
