Title Track Klaxon, Refreshing Summer Song
Group (G)I-DLE has returned with a 'summer song' to beat the heat, vowing to have a healthy and happy summer.
(G)I-DLE released their 7th mini album 'I SWAY' at 6 p.m. on the 8th. On the same day, they held a comeback live on the official Weverse channel, where they talked about their new album with singer Jo Kwon, who hosted the event.
The new release includes a total of four tracks: the title song 'Klaxon,' as well as 'Last Forever,' 'Bloom,' and 'Neverland.' All members of (G)I-DLE participated in writing and composing every track.
Soyeon explained, "The title track 'Klaxon' is a song that expresses the heart of someone in love by sounding a klaxon horn loudly. It's a song that sounds like a 'bang' of a klaxon. Anyone who listens to it can feel the summer vibe."
Miyeon added, "There is a scene in the music video where we perform synchronized dance on top of a car, which gives off a musical-like feeling." Shuhua shared behind-the-scenes stories, saying, "We filmed the music video in Thailand, and despite the hot conditions, the members worked hard until the end. I was really moved. They are amazing."
The members had an honest conversation ahead of their comeback. Regarding the chart performance of 'Klaxon,' Soyeon said, "I think it will do better than 'Super Lady.' I hope this summer feels cooler thanks to us." She also smiled and said, "I usually like girl group songs. I'm always curious about what songs and stages other groups will do. I would appreciate it if they keep an eye on us."
In particular, Soyeon emphasized, "We need to stay healthy while promoting. While making the album, we continued working on it even after activities ended, so there was even less time to rest. But because we are passionate about 'Klaxon,' we promised to take good care of our health during this promotion period."
She continued, "Every time the album is released, I get so nervous that my hands shake. This time, we prepared hard for Neverland (our fandom name). I hope you like it a lot. Tonight, we plan to release content where we dance during the live broadcast, so please make sure to watch it. It's a surprise gift," hinting at upcoming content.
The title track 'Klaxon' from the 7th mini album features refreshing strings, brass sounds, groovy bass, and rhythmic guitar sounds. With an addictive melody and witty lyrics, it boldly sings about the heart of someone in love.
(G)I-DLE has continued their growth by topping music charts with four consecutive hits starting from 'TOMBOY' in 2022, followed by 'Nxde,' 'Queencard,' and 'I’m Not Sick Because I Hate It.'
Along with the release of the 7th mini album 'I SWAY,' (G)I-DLE will hold the 2024 (G)I-DLE WORLD TOUR [iDOL] in 14 cities worldwide, starting with concerts in Seoul on August 3rd and 4th. At the end of the comeback live, Minnie shared her thoughts, saying, "I’m happy to hold a world tour again this year, and I’m looking forward to meeting more Neverlands."
