Police to Investigate Officer Who Hid Blade in Bag
A student at an elementary school in Gangwon Province was injured by a blade found inside their bag.
On the 8th, the Gangwon Provincial Office of Education announced that on the afternoon of the 28th of last month, an elementary school student, A, attending a school in the province, was deeply cut on the leg by a blade that fell out of her bag while she was taking out a pencil after school. Inside the bag,
five blades were scattered, which were identified as stationery knives.
A applied pressure to the wound for about two hours, but the bleeding did not stop. She was later taken to the emergency room and received suturing treatment.
A’s parents informed the homeroom teacher about the incident on the 1st, and the teacher investigated among the classmates to find out who had hidden the blades, but no student who hid the blades in A’s bag was identified.
Ultimately, A’s parents reported the incident to the police the following day, and the education authorities also reported it as a school violence case. However, it remains unclear who put the blades in A’s bag and for what purpose. The police investigation is expected to reveal how the blades ended up in A’s bag.
