At around 4:32 p.m. on the 8th, a route bus and a kerosene transport vehicle collided on a road in Chilseo-myeon, Haman-gun, South Gyeongsang Province.
According to the South Gyeongsang Fire Department, the driver of the 1-ton transport vehicle, a man in his 50s identified as Mr. A, was severely injured and taken to the hospital in cardiac arrest, but ultimately died.
Among the passengers on the bus, nine people suffered minor injuries, complaining of pain in the head, face, shoulders, and waist.
The injured included three teenagers, one person in their 20s, one in their 50s, two in their 60s, and two in their 70s.
The bus involved in the accident was confirmed to be operating between Chilwon in Haman and the Masan area of Changwon City.
Due to the impact of the accident, the oil transport vehicle overturned and some of the 1,500 liters of kerosene it was carrying leaked out. However, no fire occurred.
The police and fire authorities believe the accident happened as the vehicles skidded on the wet road, and they are investigating the exact cause of the accident.
