"Preparations for the 2027 Catholic World Youth Day"
Chungnam Governor Kim Tae-heum has called for the establishment of a 'Catholic Stay' for Catholic pilgrims.
At the department head meeting held on the 8th, Governor Kim said, "There is nowhere for pilgrims to stay when they come to Chungnam for pilgrimage," and added, "Since many foreigners are expected to visit during the 2027 Catholic World Youth Day, push forward with the construction of hotels."
He further instructed, "Consult with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Ministry of Economy and Finance so that the Catholic Stay can be operated in a similar format to the Temple Stay operated by Buddhist temples."
The Catholic World Youth Day, hosted by the Catholic Church, is an event where young people from around the world gather to share their faith, and it will be held in Seoul in 2027.
In line with this, the province plans to reorganize the Haemi International Holy Site and turn Catholic heritage sites within the province into world-renowned attractions.
