2nd Anniversary Press Conference: "Implementing Policies to Strengthen Student Competencies Amid Rapidly Changing Educational Environment"

On the 8th, Daejeon Metropolitan Office of Education Superintendent Seol Dongho stated, "We will do our utmost to lead the era of educational transformation by promoting future-oriented education so that all students in Daejeon can grow into creative convergence talents with upright character and creativity."
At a press conference marking his second anniversary in office held that morning, Superintendent Seol said, "Over the past two years, Daejeon education has focused on strengthening students' competencies by implementing diverse and substantial educational policies in response to the rapidly changing educational environment."
He cited the opening of the Future Vocational Education Center, strengthening teachers' expertise in instruction, establishing a digital educational environment, reinforcing school safety infrastructure, and expanding educational welfare support as achievements over the past two years.
Superintendent Seol announced that as key future policies, a pilot project for early childhood schools will be newly implemented, and digital infrastructure will be further advanced to ensure the stable introduction of artificial intelligence digital textbooks next year.
He also explained that, ahead of the full implementation of the high school credit system in 2025, Daejeon Online School will open this September, and from next year, Nobel Dream Science Labs?facilities focused on experimental and inquiry-based science classes?will be established in all schools.
In addition, he emphasized that the 'Green Dream Yard,' an ecological transition education experience space launched in schools since 2022, will be expanded to eight more schools next year. Furthermore, idle land near the Eastern Education Support Office will be utilized to establish the Daejeon Career Convergence Education Center and the Daejeon International Education Center, while the Hanbat Education Museum will be newly constructed and relocated to maximize educational synergy.
Superintendent Seol Dongho said, "The happy future of our students and the development of society and the nation depend on education," adding, "We will do our best so that, based on the foundation Daejeon education has built, students can learn and grow more happily and open up the future."
