Gwangju Gwangsan-gu Supports Food Waste Reduction Devices for High-Emission Businesses

On the 8th, Gwangsan-gu announced that it will promote a project to support the installation of food waste reduction devices for large-scale waste-generating businesses. With a budget of 50 million KRW, it will subsidize 50% of the purchase cost up to a maximum of 10 million KRW when the reduction device is installed independently.

However, subsidies will only be provided for products operating by heating drying, fermentation, fermentation drying, composting, or feed maturation methods that have obtained quality certifications such as the K Mark (Korea Testing Laboratory), Environmental Label (Korea Environmental Industry & Technology Institute), Group Standard (Korea Food Waste Treatment Cooperative), or Q Mark. Kitchen garbage disposers are excluded from support.

Eligible applicants are collective catering facilities and general restaurants classified as large-scale waste-generating businesses under the Waste Management Act, located in Gwangsan-gu. The application and submission period is from the 11th to the 26th of this month. For detailed information, check the announcement posted on the Gwangsan-gu website or contact the Gwangsan-gu Cleaning Administration Division.
