Ranked 10th Among 50 Urban-Rural Complex Cities Nationwide... In the Top 20%
Ulju County in Ulsan City has been selected as an outstanding region in the "Rural Quality of Life Index" for urban-rural complex cities, announced by the Presidential Committee on Agriculture, Fisheries and Rural Policy (Agriculture and Fisheries Committee).
The Rural Quality of Life Index is analyzed and announced by the Agriculture and Fisheries Committee after conducting a survey to improve vulnerable areas and contribute to enhancing the living conditions of people in agriculture and fisheries by evaluating the quality of life in rural areas by region.
The Agriculture and Fisheries Committee evaluated 20 indicators across 5 domains?economy, health and welfare, culture and community, environment and safety, and regional vitality?for 129 rural cities and counties nationwide, and derived an index for each city and county.
Out of the total 129 regions, they were classified into 79 "rural counties" and 50 "urban-rural complex cities," and a comprehensive index was calculated to select the top 20% in each category as outstanding regions.
Ulju County received excellent evaluations in each domain, ranking 4th in culture and community, 6th in health and welfare, and 9th in economy, placing 10th among the 50 urban-rural complex cities nationwide and being included in the top 20% outstanding regions.
County Governor Lee Sungul stated, "Thanks to the local people in agriculture and fisheries who have worked hard for the development of agriculture and fisheries in Ulju County despite difficult circumstances, we were able to achieve good results," and added, "We will continue to make efforts to improve the quality of life for local people in agriculture and fisheries."
