Dongjak-gu Partners with Modu Company to Discover Private Parking Spaces

'Our Home Parking Lot Sharing Project' First Implementation This Year

On the 8th, Dongjak-gu, Seoul announced that it will implement the 'Our Home Parking Lot Sharing Project' for the first time this year to alleviate the local parking shortage by utilizing private building auxiliary parking lots as shared parking spaces.

The 'Our Home Parking Lot Sharing Project' operates by partnering with Modu Company, which runs the Modu Parking application, to share parking spaces in private auxiliary parking lots such as houses, villas, and commercial buildings (including religious facilities) during vacant hours through the app, allowing third parties to use them.

Sadang 1-dong, where residential areas and alley market commercial districts coexist and suffer from chronic parking problems, has been selected as a pilot area to discover shared parking spaces. The district plans to support private auxiliary parking lot owners who share their parking lots with necessary facilities such as parking lot painting and guide signs.

Additionally, a group of residents called 'Shared Parking Activists' will be formed to discover shared parking lots and promote the project. The 'Shared Parking Activists' will consist of 10 members who, over three months starting this month, will survey parking facilities within private buildings such as individual villas and commercial buildings, and promote this project as well as other parking expansion projects promoted by the district, including ▲Resident Priority Parking Lots ▲Opening of Auxiliary Parking Lots ▲Fence Removal ▲Creation of Small Land Parking Lots.
