[Tomorrow's Weather] Heavy Rain in Central Region... Up to 100mm or More

On Monday the 8th, rain will fall in the central region, Jeonbuk, the Gyeongbuk area, the inland western part of Gyeongnam, and Jeju Island. There will also be occasional rain in the northern part of Jeonnam until noon.


In particular, Seoul, Incheon, southern Gyeonggi, inland southern Gangwon, and the west coast of Chungnam will experience very heavy rain of around 30mm per hour, so special caution is required. The mountainous areas of central and southern Gangwon will also see rain of about 30mm per hour in the afternoon.

The Seoul metropolitan area, inland and mountainous areas of Gangwon, and the Chungcheong region will receive 30 to 80mm of rain throughout the day on the 8th. Seoul, Incheon, southern Gyeonggi, inland southern Gangwon and its central and southern mountainous areas, and the west coast of Chungnam are forecasted to receive over 100mm of rain.


Other expected rainfall amounts are 20 to 60mm in Jeonbuk and northern Gyeongbuk, 5 to 40mm in the five western islands (Seohae 5do), 5 to 30mm along the eastern coast of Gangwon, southern Daegu and Gyeongbuk, inland western Gyeongnam, and Ulleungdo and Dokdo, 5 to 20mm in northern Jeonnam, and 5 to 10mm in Jeju Island.


The morning low temperatures are forecasted to be between 22 and 26 degrees Celsius, and the daytime highs between 26 and 31 degrees Celsius. In the southern regions and Jeju Island where heatwave warnings have been issued, the highest perceived temperature will be around 33 degrees Celsius, and some parts of southern Gyeongbuk will reach around 35 degrees Celsius, making it very hot. Most other regions nationwide will also experience a highest perceived temperature of around 31 degrees Celsius for the time being, making it warm.


Fine dust levels will be 'Good' nationwide due to smooth atmospheric dispersion and the influence of precipitation. Sea waves will be 0.5 to 2.0 meters in the East Sea nearshore, and 0.5 to 1.5 meters in the nearshore areas of the West Sea and South Sea. Wave heights in the outer seas (about 200km from the coastline) are expected to be 1.0 to 2.5 meters in the East Sea, and 0.5 to 2.5 meters in the West Sea and South Sea.
