Kanye West's First Solo Visit to Korea in 14 Years... Concert in Goyang on the 23rd Next Month

First Time in 14 Years Since Naksan Beach in 2010

Media company NEXTIS announced Kanye West's first solo concert schedule in Korea on the 7th through its official social media channels. According to CHANNEL CANDY, a media brand subsidiary of NEXTIS, Kanye West is scheduled to perform at Goyang Sports Complex in Gyeonggi Province on August 23.

This will be Kanye West's first visit to Korea in 14 years since the hip-hop festival 'Summer Weeknd' held at Naksan Beach on the East Coast in 2010.

Kanye West first gained recognition in the music industry as a producer for famous artists such as Jay-Z, Alicia Keys, and Janet Jackson, before debuting as a singer with his first album, The College Dropout, in 2004.

He caused a sensation by being nominated for 10 Grammy Awards in his debut year with this album. Since then, each album he released achieved successive success, establishing him as one of the greatest rappers and music producers of his generation.

Kanye West also showcased his unique fashion sense through collaborations with famous brands like Nike and Adidas, earning substantial income.

In February, through the album VULTURES 1, a collaboration with Ty Dolla $ign, Kanye West proved his enduring talent and influence by topping the Billboard 200 main album chart and sweeping the Billboard Hot 100 main singles chart with the single CARNIVAL.

He married Kim Kardashian, who gained fame through TV series, in 2014 and divorced seven years later in 2021. He ran for the U.S. presidential election in 2020, receiving about 60,000 votes, and in 2021, he attracted attention by legally changing his name to Ye.

In recent years, Kanye West has been at the center of controversy for public statements praising Hitler and Nazis, expressing anti-Semitic views, and posting symbols on social media that appear to combine Jewish and Nazi imagery. His remarks caused uproar in various fields, and Adidas abruptly terminated its contract with him, abandoning the brand Yeezy, which was in collaboration with him.
