The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced on the 7th that during the Korea-Philippines air talks held in Manila, Philippines, from the 3rd to the 4th, the Korea regional-Manila route was liberalized.

Previously, the Korea-Manila route was limited to 20,000 seats per week, but this restriction has been removed through the recent talks. Flights can now operate from any regional airport in Korea without limits on the number of flights. However, the Incheon-Manila route remains restricted to 30,000 seats per week.

Kim Young-guk, Director of Aviation Policy at the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, said, "The limited traffic rights on the Korea regional-Manila route have made it difficult for domestic airlines to add flights. This change will revitalize regional airports, improve convenience for air travelers, and support Korean businesses expanding into the Philippines."
