Dispute Over Photo Angles Leads to Fight
Parties Detained... Under Police Investigation
A group brawl broke out among couples at the Everest Mountain Observatory in the Tibet Autonomous Region (Xizang) of China. They are presumed to be Chinese nationals.
On the 5th (local time), the US New York Post and the UK Independent reported that on the 25th of last month, couples at the 8,848-meter-high Everest Observatory had a verbal dispute over differences of opinion while taking so-called 'proof shots.'
At the time, a tour guide asked them to pose together next to a sign indicating the altitude, but while discussing the best angle for the photo, a conflict of opinions arose among the couples.
The argument eventually escalated into a violent physical fight. In the released video, men are seen throwing punches at each other, pulling each other's hair, and falling to the ground. Women, while trying to break up the men, became angry and even attempted to stomp on one of the men.
The commotion only ended when the Everest border police arrived and separated the two men.
Authorities are currently handling the incident according to legal procedures. The involved parties are under police investigation while in custody.
