Geumcheon-gu Operates Free 4th Industry Courses for Experiencing Future Technologies and Obtaining Certifications

Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) announced that starting in July, it will offer free 4th Industrial Revolution courses at Geumcheon Science Cube for students from elementary school to adults.

The education program was designed to provide residents with opportunities to use future technology tools based on the 4th Industrial Revolution, allowing them to experience convenience and enjoyment in daily life and to respond flexibly to rapidly changing digital technologies.

The program will run for three months starting in July and consists of a Future Talent Development Camp, Game Making, and Certification Preparation/Expert classes.

The Future Talent Development Camp targets elementary school students in grades 2 to 4 and offers carbon-neutral environmental education using drones, 3D modeling, and 3D pens. The education is structured to allow elementary students to directly experience 4th Industrial Revolution technologies in an engaging way.

The Game Making course is for students from grade 5 to adults and includes game production (including coding) using 'Roblox Studio' (a game creation program) and creating game characters using 'Blender,' a 3D computer graphics software, allowing participants to experience games they create and enjoy.

The Certification Preparation class offers courses to prepare for the national qualification exam for 3D Printer Operator, providing opportunities to prepare for the future in line with changes in the 4th Industrial Revolution. The Expert class provides program education for digital content creation, allowing participants to create graphic designs, digital illustrations, and short videos (short-form).

Youth (elementary school grade 2 and above) and adults can apply online through the Geumcheon-gu Office website's 'Integrated Reservation' by the 15th, with registration closing on a first-come, first-served basis.

Mayor Yu Seong-hoon stated, "By learning various 4th Industrial Revolution technologies, we can strengthen creative problem-solving skills and enhance adaptability to future society," adding, "We will continue to strive to foster local science and technology culture through Geumcheon Science Cube."
