Full Implementation of Child-Friendly City... Yeongcheon City Offers Free Meals and Snacks at Community Childcare Centers Yeongcheon City, Gyeongbuk, will fully support meal and snack expenses for children using the Together Care Center starting from July this second half of the year.

Until now, children using the Dahamkke Dolbom Center had to pay for their own meals and snacks, which created economic burdens for guardians and made it difficult to access quality care services. However, with the city's financial support, these issues are expected to be resolved.

The Dahamkke Dolbom Center is a project launched to establish a community-based care system and address gaps in childcare. Regardless of parents' income, it provides elementary school students (ages 6 to 12) who need care with learning, play, and care programs from after school until 7 p.m. during the school term, and from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. during vacations.

Mayor Choi Kimoon stated, "In line with the nationwide trend, such as the establishment of the Population Strategy Planning Department by the government and the Low Birthrate Overcoming Headquarters by North Gyeongsang Province, our city will make even greater efforts to overcome low birthrates and create Yeongcheon as a child-friendly city where it is good to raise children."

Yeongcheon City began operating its first Dahamkke Dolbom Center in 2021 and currently operates four centers. By the end of this year, it plans to open its fifth center at the Wansan-dong Eoullim Platform, and by 2026, a total of seven Dahamkke Dolbom Centers will be established and operated.
