The Identity of the Lookalike Girl Who Looks Like BLACKPINK Lisa Selling Chicken at the Market

Cool T-shirt Wearing Blue Apron Becomes a Hot Topic

A teenage girl selling chicken at a market in Thailand gained attention overseas for resembling BLACKPINK's Lisa. The girl is known to have come to the market recently during her school break to help her mother.

The Bangkok Post released a video late last month showing 17-year-old Kultida selling chicken at a market near Samut Prakan, close to Bangkok. Netizens reacted by saying things like "She looks so much like Lisa," "Isn't she Lisa's sister?" and "I thought it was Lisa," the report said recently. The videos posted have reached 1 million and 500,000 views respectively.

Kultida studies in a region called Phichit in northern Thailand. Regarding her sudden popularity, she told local media in an interview, "I felt a bit embarrassed by the intense online attention," but added, "I am interested in the entertainment field and participate in related activities at school." She also expressed her desire to enter the entertainment industry, saying, "I am happy and excited to resemble my respected singer, BLACKPINK's Lisa."

Meanwhile, Lisa, a member of the K-pop girl group BLACKPINK, is from Buriram in northeastern Thailand. Her real name is Lalisa Manoban, and as BLACKPINK's popularity soared, Lisa also rose as a national hero in Thailand. She is especially supported because, unlike other Thai K-pop singers, she does not come from the Thai upper-class 'high-so' background. In a survey conducted last year by Suan Dusit University with 7,398 participants, Lisa was selected as the most influential person in Thailand.

In May, Lisa filmed the music video for her new song "Rockstar" on Yaowarat Road, Bangkok's Chinatown, and made headlines for paying nearby merchants more than a month's salary in exchange for closing the street.

Although most merchants had finished their business hours, Lisa reportedly offered 20,000 baht (about 750,000 KRW) in compensation to shop owners for the inconvenience and noise caused by the filming. The media explained that this amount exceeds a typical monthly salary in Thailand. It is also reported that she offered 1,000 baht (about 37,000 KRW) to pedestrians who experienced inconvenience due to street closures.
