Projects Worth Over 4.1 Billion Won Launched in Yongcho-ri, Gogeummyeon and Guseong-ri, Yaksanmyeon
Wando-gun, Jeollanam-do, has achieved a great success by applying for the '2025 Rural Vulnerable Area Living Condition Improvement Project' organized by the Local Era Committee, with two villages, Yongcho-ri in Gogeum-myeon and Guseong-ri in Yaksan-myeon, being selected.
According to the county on the 5th, the Rural Vulnerable Area Living Condition Improvement Project supports the expansion of living infrastructure, improvement of residential environments, and strengthening of residents' capabilities in areas where basic quality of life and safety are problematic.
Earlier this year, the county finalized new project sites, established a preliminary plan, and formed a promotion committee. Through resident briefings and continuous meetings, they made every effort to be selected for the project. After a preliminary on-site evaluation by Jeollanam-do in April, two villages in Wando-gun were chosen as project sites.
With the selection, from 2025 to 2028, a total of approximately 4.1 billion KRW, including 1.5 billion KRW in national funds, will be invested in the two villages to carry out vacant house maintenance, slate roof renovation, village environment improvement, village road and old fence repairs, and more.
In particular, the selected villages have over 60% of houses older than 30 years with slate roofs, so the project is expected to have a high impact.
A county official stated, “We will carry out the project thoroughly to create happy and livable villages for the residents.”
