SAMG Entertainment (CEO Kim Suhoon, hereinafter SAMG Entertainment) announced that it held a second half new IP briefing and buyer meeting with companies on the 4th at the Four Points by Sheraton Hotel Seoul Gangnam.
The briefing was held privately to prevent IP leaks before release, and about 80 individually invited B2B buyers from over 40 companies including major domestic large supermarkets and franchises attended.
SAMG Entertainment announced the launch of a new season of its core IP, "Catch! Teenieping," and explained the main contents of upcoming new works to be released in the second half of the year, such as the new IPs "Wishcat" and "Metal Card Bot Season 2," which have expanded target age groups. They also held one-on-one customized meetings for collaboration related to licensing and product distribution.
Kim Youngbong, Director of Sales at SAMG Entertainment, said, "Since the collaboration with Ediya Coffee earlier this year, including licensing and distribution contracts, we have sold over 420,000 MD items to date," adding, "New contracts with many companies attending the meeting are also in the final stages."
He continued, "We will expand the scope of the company's operating profit by discovering additional third distribution channels with new toys and F&B products that keep pace with the rapidly changing consumer demand."
At this briefing, SAMG Entertainment emphasized the expansion of target age groups for new IPs. In particular, they explained the IP "Wishcat, the Cat That Grants Wishes," which is set to air on terrestrial broadcasting in September, and plan to incorporate situations that teenage protagonists may experience in daily life into the characters and storylines to elicit broad empathy from teenagers and the MZ generation.
A SAMG Entertainment official said, "This IP briefing was the starting point of SAMG Entertainment's target-up strategy, confirming that the robot-type IP Metal Card Bot is receiving much attention in the kidult market," adding, "Accordingly, various projects are currently being prepared to expand the business area to the kidult market by combining SAMG Entertainment's best IP production know-how with special collaborations with major partners."
