The ‘LH Talent Sharing Volunteer Group’ is a volunteer organization that practices mutual aid sharing based on the knowledge and talents learned first through the LH small library by residents of rental housing. It was launched last month and visits local social welfare institutions with various cultural contents.
LH acts as a bridge to enable LH residents to volunteer their talents in society by organizing the Talent Sharing Volunteer Group and matching them with institutions wishing to proceed.
The LH Talent Sharing Volunteer Group carried out a painting therapy program at Sohwa Holy Family, a local welfare community, under the theme of ‘Painting and Crafts, Blending into Daily Life.’
Moreover, they plan to conduct 11 additional cultural volunteer programs targeting people with developmental disabilities by incorporating painting and crafts (such as quilting and French embroidery).
Sohwa Holy Family is a facility where about 30 adult women with developmental disabilities reside, providing a home-like living environment.
Team Leader Lee Yangju of Sohwa Holy Family expressed gratitude, saying, “Thank you for showing interest and visiting places in need through mutual aid talent volunteer activities.”
Jeong Sumi, Director of LH Gwangju-Jeonnam Regional Headquarters, said, “We will continue to support new and diverse programs for the socially marginalized groups in the community and strive to activate a culture of talent sharing.”
