"Safer Driving Lowers Insurance Premiums" Naver Maps Introduces 'Driving Score'

Naver announced on the 5th that it will introduce the 'Driving Score' feature through an update to the Naver Map app. The update will be rolled out sequentially starting from the 7th. Users can subscribe to DB Insurance's 'Naver Map Safe Driving Discount Special Contract' based on their driving score and receive discounts on insurance premiums.

The driving score is a score that converts the user's driving habits into a 100-point scale by analyzing the driving records while receiving route guidance through Naver Map navigation. It is calculated by comprehensively reflecting factors such as ▲distance driven over the speed limit ▲number of rapid accelerations and decelerations during driving. The driving score is automatically updated every time the driving ends.

To help users manage their driving scores more effectively, a 'Driving Analysis Page' will also be introduced. On the driving analysis page, users can view various indicators such as the driving score, score change graph, average score of all users, total driving time, and driving distance. An enhanced 'Driving Records' feature is also available. Launched in September last year, the 'Driving Records' feature allows users to check their travel routes, duration, and driving distance for each driving record at a glance. This update adds a function that provides detailed analysis of driving records. It intuitively shows sections where speeding occurred, speed, and the number of rapid accelerations and decelerations during driving.

Users can also receive car insurance discount benefits based on their driving score. DB Insurance will launch the 'Naver Map Safe Driving Discount Special Contract,' which links Naver Map driving scores to offer premium discounts, on the 9th. Users who have driven more than 500 km via Naver Map navigation within the last six months and have a driving score of 71 or higher are eligible for the discount. From the 9th, detailed information can be checked through the DB Insurance safe driving discount special contract banner within the Naver Map app, and users can subscribe to the special contract if needed.
