On the 4th, the Namdaemun Police Station in Seoul announced that they are tracking the author who left mocking comments at the memorial site for the Sicheong Station traffic accident victims. The comment compared the victims' blood to tomato juice.

Earlier, the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency warned that indiscriminate distribution of mocking, insulting, and defamatory posts online could be punishable under criminal law for insult and defamation of the deceased, as well as defamation under the Information and Communications Network Act.

Previously, Mr. Cha (68) exited the underground parking lot of the Westin Chosun Hotel near Sicheong Station and drove about 200 meters in the wrong direction on the one-way street Sejong-daero 18-gil, hitting a guardrail and pedestrians on the sidewalk before colliding with BMW and Sonata vehicles. This accident resulted in 9 deaths and 7 injuries, totaling 16 casualties.
