On the 4th, Anseong City in Gyeonggi Province announced that the regular city bus route operating from Anseong General Bus Terminal to Pyeongtaek Jije Station has been confirmed as a new route under the public management system led by Gyeonggi Province.
The Gyeonggi Province city bus public management system is a Gyeonggi-type semi-public bus system, divided into province-managed routes operating between cities and counties, and city-managed routes operating within cities and counties. The city proposed this route to the province last December, reflecting the need to establish a new route connecting the northern area, including Wongok and Yangseong, to the key transportation facility Pyeongtaek Jije Station, as well as changes in urban conditions such as northern industrial complexes.

The new route will have a dispatch interval of 20 to 25 minutes and will operate from Anseong General Bus Terminal, passing through Hankyong National University, the 1st Industrial Complex, Yangseong-myeon, and Wongok-myeon, to the terminus at Pyeongtaek Jije Station. The city expects that the new route will reduce travel time to Pyeongtaek Jije Station compared to existing city buses.
The city explained that it plans to start operation in the second half of the year after selecting a transportation company through route bidding. Meanwhile, currently, nine city-managed routes and one province-managed route under the public management system are operating in Anseong City.
Kim Bora, mayor of Anseong City, said, "We will consult with Gyeonggi Province to convert routes not yet under the public management system as soon as possible," adding, "We will also promote new routes in line with urban development trends such as new apartment move-ins and the opening of urban planning roads to make public transportation more convenient."
