Taekwondo Athlete Injury Prevention Safety Education
Dong-Eui University of Science and Technology (President Kim Youngdo) announced on the 4th that its school enterprise, the Sports Rehabilitation Center, visited Baekyang Middle School to conduct safety education for Taekwondo athletes to prevent injuries.
During this session, various programs were provided to enhance the safety, physical, and mental sports capabilities of youth Taekwondo athletes. These included warm-up exercises before training, cool-down exercises after training, balance and stability exercises, injury prevention and management, and sports taping for improving physical function.
Additionally, information on management and rehabilitation programs was provided for athletes suffering from chronic pain, offering customized exercise programs according to the stage of injury. The necessity of sports rehabilitation exercises was emphasized to improve athletes' sense of well-being and performance during sports activities.
Song Minyoung, Director of the Sports Rehabilitation Center at Dong-Eui University of Science and Technology, stated, "We will continue to make efforts to effectively manage and promote the recovery of athletes from injuries sustained during sports activities," and added, "We will strive to faithfully implement rehabilitation education for local sports athletes and health promotion programs for community residents, so that the university and the local community can grow together."
The school enterprise Sports Rehabilitation Center was selected for the 'Stage 3 School Enterprise Support Project,' which provides support for five years starting in 2020, and has been operating various programs every year based on student practice and local community needs.
The Sports Rehabilitation Center at Dong-Eui University of Sciences visited Baekyang Middle School to conduct a sports injury prevention education session and took a commemorative photo afterward.
