Pyeongtaek-si Social Economy Public Procurement Expo Successfully Concluded

Pyeongtaek City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 4th that it held the '2024 Pyeongtaek City Social Economy Public Procurement Expo' at Pyeongtaek City Hall on the 3rd.


Marking its third event following those in April and November last year, this event focused on promoting products of local social economy enterprises to various public institutions and facilitating actual purchase contracts to increase sales of these enterprises.

The event showcased a variety of products and services from social enterprises, including copy paper, vertical blinds, distribution panels (sub-panels) manufacturing, printing, cleaning services, fusion gugak (traditional Korean music), group catering, water tank cleaning, scorched rice manufacturing, sandwiches, pear sauce, and noodle restaurants.


At the event, 18 social economy enterprises, including Cheongin CNC Co., Ltd., operated promotional booths. Public institutions participating included 91 departments such as the Accounting Division of Pyeongtaek City, the Ministry of Employment and Labor, Pyeongtaek Post Office, Pyeongtaek Fire Station, Korea Rural Community Corporation, Gyeonggi Pyeongtaek Port Corporation, Small and Medium Business Corporation, Pyeongtaek Urban Corporation, Pyeongtaek International Exchange Foundation, Pyeongtaek Cultural Foundation, Pyeongtaek Welfare Foundation, and Pyeongtaek Youth Foundation.


Jung Jang-seon, Mayor of Pyeongtaek City, stated, "We will expand the operation to enable more social economy enterprises and government and public institutions to participate in the next event."


Meanwhile, within Pyeongtaek City, there are currently 15 Ministry of Employment-certified social enterprises, 12 preliminary social enterprises, 5 village enterprises, 1 preliminary village enterprise, 6 self-support enterprises, 38 social cooperatives, 146 general cooperatives, and 5 consumer cooperatives active.
