The Korean National Police University announced on the 4th that it held a joint academic conference on the theme of ‘Advancement of Science and Technology and Public Security.’
At this joint academic conference, experts from police-related academic societies active nationwide gathered in one place to discuss the integrated development of science, technology, and public security.
Oh Sang-rok, President of the Korea Institute of Science and Technology, stated, “Recently, with the development of technologies such as deepfake and artificial intelligence (AI), hyperconnected crimes have increased, threatening the property and safety of the public,” and emphasized, “To proactively prevent sophisticated crimes, it is important to advance the field of scientific policing by integrating cutting-edge technologies such as AI-based analysis.”
Lee Ho-young, President of the Korean National Police University, said, “Recently, intelligent and sophisticated crimes threatening public safety have occurred due to the advancement of science and technology,” and added, “I believe this joint academic conference will be an important opportunity to elevate the level of scientific policing.”
