2024 Sustainable Management Report Publication
SK Shieldus announced on the 4th that it has published the ‘2024 Sustainability Management Report,’ which contains its ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) mid-to-long-term growth strategy and key achievements. Since 2022, SK Shieldus has been publishing the sustainability management report annually to systematically manage ESG sustainability management strategies and key tasks, transparently disclose efforts to achieve goals, and major outcomes.
The report includes contents such as converting 100% of internal combustion engine work vehicles to electric vehicles, reducing the number of injuries by 5% annually, and establishing a code of conduct for ethical management. First, SK Shieldus plans to actively respond to climate change by converting 50% of all vehicles to electric vehicles this year. It also plans to procure 70% of the electricity used for offices and electric vehicle charging from renewable energy sources. Efforts are also being made to minimize waste as part of practicing a circular economy. SK Shieldus is reducing plastic use in the production stage of security equipment and utilizing collected equipment for refurbished product manufacturing to minimize discarded equipment.
The company is also actively addressing social issues linked to business expertise. Operating the white-hacker group EQST and the ‘Korean Anti-Ransomware Alliance (KARA),’ SK Shieldus responds to information security threats through various activities such as ransomware one-stop service support, research and publication related to security threats, and training of professionals. In the physical security business area, it is promoting activities that serve as a social safety net, such as supporting the home security service CapsHome for single-person households and residential safety-vulnerable households, and providing emergency safety assurance services for elderly living alone and people with disabilities.
Hong Won-pyo, CEO of SK Shieldus, said, “This sustainability management report is the result of strongly linking SK Shieldus’s growth strategy for the next five years with ESG goals, demonstrating our strong commitment to active ESG management.” He added, “We will continue to grow and develop together with customers, partners, local communities, shareholders, and members, and strive to become a leading ESG company that creates a sustainable future.”
