Flight crew temporarily departs after live ammunition collection
Investigation on possession circumstances planned upon return
A live bullet was found in the bag of a domestic airline crew member who was about to board a passenger plane at Incheon International Airport, prompting the police to launch an investigation.
On the 4th, Yonhap News reported, "At around 7:30 a.m. on the 2nd, during the inspection of the carry-on luggage bag of a female crew member A, who was about to board a Korean Air passenger plane from Incheon to Bangkok at Incheon Airport Terminal 2, one 7.62mm caliber live bullet was discovered."
The police collected the live bullet and allowed Ms. A to depart for now, and plan to investigate the circumstances of the bullet possession once she returns.
Previously, live bullets were found on Korean Air flights in March last year and March this year, causing controversy. Now, with a live bullet detected in the bag of a crew member who is supposed to follow the in-flight aviation safety manual, some voices are rising calling for strengthening aviation security training for crew members.
