Gyeonggi-do to Provide 200 Eco-Friendly Vehicle Parking Spaces on Basement Level 1... Charging Facilities Also Expanded Eco-friendly Vehicle Exclusive Parking Area in the Basement Parking Lot of Gyeonggi Provincial Government Building

Gyeonggi Province is significantly expanding dedicated parking spaces and charging facilities for eco-friendly vehicles such as electric cars, hydrogen cars, and hybrid cars.

To promote the spread of eco-friendly vehicles and improve air quality, Gyeonggi Province announced on the 4th that it has completed the installation of 200 dedicated parking spaces for eco-friendly vehicles and electric vehicle charging facilities in the underground level 1 transfer parking lot of the government office building, and will begin full-scale operation of the facilities starting from the 8th.

Gyeonggi Province increased the existing 7 dedicated parking spaces for eco-friendly vehicles to 200, and expanded the number of electric vehicle chargers from 7 to 17. Additionally, 2 chargers were installed for disabled persons to ensure convenient access to electric vehicle charging facilities for them as well.

The dedicated parking spaces for eco-friendly vehicles are marked with green parking lines and white lettering stating "Dedicated for Eco-friendly Vehicles." Only electric vehicles, hydrogen electric vehicles, and hybrid vehicles are allowed to park. If a regular vehicle parks in these spaces, a fine may be imposed according to the "Eco-friendly Vehicle Act" (Article 16).

A Gyeonggi Province official stated, "As the introduction of eco-friendly vehicles is expected to increase, we installed dedicated parking spaces for eco-friendly vehicles in the underground level 1 transfer parking lot, which is easily accessible to residents," and added, "We will continue to make efforts to ensure there are no inconveniences in usage to further promote the spread of eco-friendly vehicles."
