Gyeonggi Province conducted on-site inspections of residential land and public housing districts within the province and corrected a total of 84 cases.
Gyeonggi Province announced on the 4th that it carried out on-site inspections of 28 residential land and public housing districts across the province from May 22 to June 10 to prevent safety accidents and prepare for heatwaves ahead of the full rainy season, correcting 84 cases.
The inspection targets included a total of 28 sites: 7 residential land development districts such as Pyeongtaek Godeok International District under construction, and 21 public housing districts such as Suwon Dangsujigu.
The inspection was conducted in a two-step process: first, the project implementers or construction companies performed a self-inspection, and then based on the inspection results, Gyeonggi Province, project implementers, and private experts jointly conducted a second inspection.
The main inspection items were ▲ installation and management status of drainage facilities ▲ instability of cut-and-fill slope sections ▲ availability of flood control materials and equipment ▲ installation of safety facilities to prevent accidents ▲ negligence in addressing risk factors such as levee leakage and scour due to damage to revetment facilities ▲ installation of rest facilities for workers ▲ provision status of cold beverages and saline solution (salt).
A Gyeonggi Province official stated, "We will continue to conduct safety inspections to minimize damage to residential land and public housing districts caused by natural disasters and create safer construction sites."
