Expert Forum on "Asking the Path for Geumcheon’s Next 30 Years" Held
Seeking Future Strategies at the Important Moment of the 2nd Anniversary of the 8th Civilian Administration and the 30th Anniversary of Geumcheon Office Establishment
Researching Geumcheon’s Development Directions with Experts from Various Fields
Geumcheon-gu (District Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) announced that it will hold a 'Future Strategy Forum' at 2 p.m. on July 9 in the district office auditorium to prepare for the 30th anniversary of its establishment.
The district will celebrate its 30th anniversary next year. To review Geumcheon's past and achievements and to design the next 30 years, a session was arranged to hear experts' opinions.
At this forum, in-depth discussions will take place along with presentations by experts in four major fields: urban planning, G-Valley and economy, transportation and smart city, and culture.
The forum will begin with a keynote speech by Dr. Kim Si-deok, author of 'The Future of Korean Cities,' who will present a vision for the future urban development direction of Geumcheon-gu.
Afterwards, Joo Young-jin, chairman of the Korea Legislative Research Association, will serve as the moderator of the forum. Bae Woong-gyu, president of the Korean Landscape Society, will present on 'Geumcheon's Urban Planning and Residential Environment Improvement Direction,' and Ki Hyo-seong, director of the Hana Urban Research Institute, will present on 'Changes in the Metropolitan Industrial Structure and Development Direction of G-Valley.'
Following this, Professor Kim Seung-nam of Chung-Ang University will propose 'Strategies for Promoting Geumcheon's Smart City and Transportation Plans,' and Senior Research Fellow Ra Do-sam of the Seoul Institute will suggest 'Geumcheon's Urban Conditions and Cultural Development Strategies.'
Finally, a floor discussion involving the presenting professors, discussants, and audience will take place, allowing for various questions and answers regarding Geumcheon's future and development strategies.
Based on the diverse opinions and proposals presented at this forum, the district plans to prepare for the 30th anniversary and design the next 30 years of Geumcheon's future.
Yu Seong-hoon, mayor of Geumcheon-gu, said, "This year marks the second anniversary of the midterm of the 8th elected administration and an important time to proactively prepare for the 30th anniversary of the district's establishment. In light of this important period, we have prepared the forum to listen to experts' opinions and residents' voices to create a better and forward-moving Geumcheon. We hope for the active interest and participation of residents."
