Indoor Sterilization and Odor Removal for Over 400 Vulnerable Households by the End of October
Job Creation and Resident-Centered Services through Community Job Project
Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Lee Pil-hyung) will provide a ‘Visiting Disinfection Service’ for vulnerable groups from July to the end of October.
This project was established to create public jobs and provide community-based services. Participants in the local community job project will visit about 400 vulnerable households, including low-income families and elderly living alone who suffer from odors and pests, to carry out disinfection.
The disinfection will start in Yongsin-dong on July 8 and continue by neighborhood until the end of October. The visiting disinfection workers, who have received training on chemical usage and worker safety, will perform ▲indoor sterilization and odor removal ▲insecticide disinfection ▲septic tank mosquito larva control work.
The district also implements the ‘Dream Start Disinfection Service’ to improve the living environment of vulnerable children and prevent disease infection. Pest control companies will visit 28 vulnerable children’s households to apply pest repellents and provide guidance on management methods. If many pests are found due to excessive stored items, pest control consulting services will also be provided.
Lee Pil-hyung, Mayor of Dongdaemun-gu, stated, "During the summer when damage from pests and odors increases, I hope that vulnerable residents can live comfortably and safely through the disinfection service. We will continue to carefully address even the small inconveniences residents experience in their daily lives."
