Gyeonggi Province Governor Kim Dong-yeon is attending the launch ceremony of the Gyeonggi Sports Council and the Gyeonggi Disabled Sports Council Northern Support Center on the 3rd, cheering with the attendees.
The Gyeonggi Provincial Sports Council and the Gyeonggi Provincial Disabled Sports Council Northern Support Center were launched on the 3rd.
The Northern Support Center will be located on the 2nd floor of the Uijeongbu City Sports Complex and will play a central role in driving balanced sports development between the northern and southern regions of Gyeonggi by ▲ revitalizing northern sports through discovering specialized projects for the northern region ▲ expanding sports facilities in the northern region and promoting dedicated projects to increase sports participation opportunities for northern residents ▲ building a network of sports organizations (cities/counties and sports disciplines) in the northern region.
Gyeonggi Governor Kim Dong-yeon attended the launch ceremony and said, "Narrowing the gap between southern and northern Gyeonggi is the direction of provincial administration, and we have achieved a long-held aspiration. The opening of the Northern Support Center in Uijeongbu today is one of the important steps taken for the development of northern Gyeonggi."
He continued, "I believe the Northern Support Center will provide excellent support and infrastructure for many residents and athletes in the northern region," adding, "Sports are a vessel that holds the heart. In a chaotic world, the revival of sports, which builds a healthy and proper spirit along with physical strength, will be a great opportunity to create a significant turning point for the development of the Republic of Korea."
