Busan Urban Corporation, BMC Conducts Public Interest and Corruption Reporting Drill... Spreading a Culture of Integrity

Distribution of Anti-Corruption Violation Situation Cards, Hands-On Reporting Experience

Busan Metropolitan Corporation (BMC) conducted the "2024 BMC Public Interest and Corruption Reporting Simulation Training" to enhance employees' understanding of corrupt practices and improve their ability to respond effectively when such situations arise.

The simulation training involved distributing scenario cards related to violations of anti-corruption laws to 50 randomly selected employees, who then experienced the process of writing and submitting a report directly to the Integrity Audit Office.

The scenario cards were created based on anti-corruption education materials and manuals and casebooks distributed by the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission, covering topics such as the Improper Solicitation and Graft Act (improper solicitation, receipt of money or valuables) and the Corporation's Code of Conduct (private labor, public interest infringement, improper work instructions), all related to anti-corruption systems.

An official who participated in the simulation said, "It was a valuable experience to actually write and submit a report based on a simulated case. It was a useful opportunity to learn how to handle such situations if they were to occur in reality."

Kim Yonghak, President of Busan Metropolitan Corporation, stated, "It was a meaningful time for employees to improve their understanding of corruption cases and develop the ability to respond appropriately in real situations by personally preparing and submitting reports. We will actively reflect the suggestions for improvement raised during the feedback process in our future work, and by establishing step-by-step and regular training, we will ensure that all employees contribute to building an integrity-driven corporation."

On the 2nd, President Kim Yonghak held a results briefing session for executive-level employees to share the outcomes of the training, model answers, satisfaction survey results, and suggestions for improvement, emphasizing the importance of the reporting system and employee engagement.
