Agency Big Hit Music, Official Confirmation
The eldest member of the group 'BTS', Jin (Kim Seokjin), has been officially confirmed as a torchbearer for the '2024 Paris Summer Olympics'.
On the 3rd, his agency Big Hit Music stated, "Jin will participate in the torch relay to spread the message of 'harmony' and 'peace'."
BTS, the group Jin belongs to, is known as the '21st-century pop icon' and has made a significant mark in the history of popular music. They have practiced positive influence through two speeches at the UN General Assembly and the ongoing 'LOVE MYSELF' campaign with the Korea Committee for UNICEF since 2017.
BTS also has a strong connection with major international sports events. Previously, the group's youngest member Jungkook performed on stage at the opening ceremony of the '2022 FIFA Qatar World Cup', kicking off the festival with the theme song 'Dreamers'.
The torch relay for the '2024 Paris Summer Olympics', which opens on the 27th, began last April in Olympia, Greece. It is scheduled to travel through 64 regions, including the city center and beaches of France, until the day of the event.
Jin and other torchbearers will tour historic sites symbolizing the host country. Specific details about Jin's torch relay schedule have not yet been disclosed. Jin will soon depart for France to participate in the torch relay.
