Gwangju Buk-gu Council Elects Leadership Team for the Second Half of the 9th Term

Choi Mu-song was elected as the chairman of the Gwangju Metropolitan City Buk-gu Council.


The Buk-gu Council announced on the 3rd that it held a plenary session to complete the formation of the 9th term second half chairman group. Im Jong-guk was elected as the vice chairman.

Chairman Choi, the newly appointed chairman, has demonstrated seasoned legislative activities, having served as the 4th term second half Chair of the Operations and General Affairs Committee, the 7th term first half Chair of the Council Operations Committee, the 8th term second half Vice Chair of the Safety and City Committee, and the 9th term first half Vice Chairman.


He expressed, “I will fully utilize my experience as a four-term council member to work closely with the residents and walk only the right path for the development of Buk-gu,” adding, “I will realize a council that works for the 430,000 residents of Buk-gu, exercising communication, harmony, and flexible leadership to operate the council with stability both internally and externally.”


Vice Chairman Im said, “I will ensure that there is no negligence in the duties of council members and take the lead in implementing policies to improve the quality of life for residents,” and added, “Together with the chairman and fellow council members, I will do my best to make Buk-gu Council a respected institution.”


Meanwhile, the Buk-gu Council plans to hold a plenary session on the 4th to conduct the appointment of standing committee members and the election of standing committee chairs.
