The 1st Birth Day Commemoration Ceremony, hosted by the World Couple's Day Committee, was held on the morning of the 3rd at the main conference hall of Changwon Hanmaeum Hospital in Gyeongnam.
Attending the ceremony were Hah Choongsik, President of the World Couple's Day Committee; Kwon Jaedo, Representative; multi-child families; officials from Gyeongnam Province and Changwon Special City; and about 300 participants from various religious communities, including Christianity and Buddhism.
The World Couple's Day Committee, which originated in Changwon, has been nurturing the culture of Couple's Day for building happy families. The committee declared that it will launch a new movement to address the country's ultra-low birthrate issue through the Couple's Day Committee.
During the event, the 1st Birth Day Proclamation Ceremony was held, and cash prizes were awarded to multi-child families. The families receiving the prizes were the family of Kim Seoktae and Eom Gyesuk, who have the most children in Korea with 13, and the family of Park Seongyong and Lee Gyejeong from Uiryeong, who have 10 children.
At the ceremony, Hah Choongsik, Co-Representative of Birth Day, emphasized, "The issue of childbirth is not only a national task but also an important matter for individual families to resolve. Let's overcome the low birthrate issue through the new family culture movement advocated by the Couple's Day Committee."
Following the proclamation of Birth Day, the 1st Couple Chimaek Festival for childbirth will be held at 5 p.m. at the Changwon Grand Mercure Ambassador Hotel.
